Trial Run of New Blog

So I think I mentioned months ago that I might retire this current blog website.

I might have a way of doing that now.

I am now engaging in a trial run of using LBRY for blogging purposes.

LBRY can be found at ---- download a client or go to for the web version.

My blog channel is:

My main channel is:

My games channel is:

So far, the big drawback of LBRY is the amount of time it takes to post writing to the service --- it's a lengthy wait compared to what I have now.

But, we'll see::: I'm trying LBRY for my blog now.

Hopefully, I won't forget.

It's a trial run at this point.

I remembered something

I remembered something a moment ago.

Ten years ago, well, 9-10 years ago, back in 2010, I remember I decided to write a book about my experiences, in order to make money for any travels or undertakings I might want to take in life.

The book failed financially,

But today I remembered some of the things going on back in 2010 that might've indicated a need to travel.

Back in 2010, Avril Lavigne had a chatroom type thing on the main home page of her website.

I spent some time there.

One person told me I should go to LA to take Avril for myself before it was too late.

I also have a memory that someone was urging me to travel somewhere before 10 years were over ----- I remembered this today, and I realize that time for this travel is almost up ------ whatever it was supposed to be, whatever it was.

Back in 2010 I probably had at least a thousand dollars of debt (which quickly grew to about 12 thousand dollars fo debt with the publishing of my book) and my income was very limited.

To me, it looks like my book financially failed. But who knows if the government took my earnings, which may be why my income since then has grown substantially.

So:::: I remembered someone telling me I need to go on a trip within 10 years, the time is almost run out,

but the good news is that if I wanted to liquidate my savings I might be able to afford a vacation somewhere. A short vacation likely. If only a good portion of my savings wasn't locked into some non-redeemable GICs.

So yeah::: almost 10 years is over, and in a sense, I finally have enough to maybe make a journey somewhere. Although, my plans now are to buy new computer hardware instead, so I can continue with whatever I might try to do to sell games or whathaveyou.

(My main mac mini is getting old ---- I wonder if the hard drive on it is starting to wear out too).

And though I appreciate Avril and she's one of my favourite people, I no longer have any desire to marry. It seems really unlikely that I'd ever go searching for a spouse again. I'm not likely to try again with anyone is what I'm saying. As far as I can see right now, at least.

Yeah. There you go. It could be said my whole purpose for trying to sell stuff was to make money for travels somewhere -------- and only more recently on LBRY have I had the least bit of success in this endeavour.

It took 9-10 years, but finally, I am starting to see sales. It took a very long time for people to start paying me ------ although what might've helped that is that I'm selling for very, very cheap prices on LBRY.

Doing Maintenance

A while back on this blog I reported I had purchased a refurbished 1.4Ghz 2014 model Mac mini from Apple for certain development purposes and whatnot.

I had a big complaint about the system:::: it was unbearably slow.

Today my Dad and I now understand the problem better and are working to fix it::::

We did a disk benchmark on the machine::: the hard drive doesn't work very well anymore.

So I restored the time machine backup on to an external SSD plugged into the computer:

and running the computer from the external SSD, it is working so, so so much better.

You would not believe how painfully slow the system was on the deteriorating hard drive -----

but running the system from an external SSD makes it run beautifully ----- breathing new life into the hardware.

Installed Pfhonge in a VM

I've been wondering about how I'll release my Android-specific games like Pfhonge on LBRY.

There are ways of installing android on various devices and all that ------

but last night I finally figured out how to successfully install Android x86 on VirtualBox on my Mac --- and then install Pfhonge, and play a bit.

If I release Pfhonge on LBRY, I'll probably want to release it with a video tutorial on how to install it in a virtual machine.

My current Mac mini for that sort of thing might've been a powerhouse 7 years ago ------ but now when I record lengthy videos of myself doing anything nowadays it chugs and get laggy on the video recording.

This basically means that if I'm going to release Pfhonge, I need to release it with a video tutorial of how to install it in Virtual Box ------- and if I'm going to make such a video I"ll likely need a newer and faster Mac.

I've been saving, but at the current rate, it'll still take quite a while.

We'll see ----- I just thought I'd post this update that I did manage to get Pfhonge working in a virtual machine.

I actually won a game of chess

Yesterday I had a friend over to play some games and have some fun.

One of the games we played was Chess.

I'm "schizophrenic". He's NOT schizophrenic.

I won.

Back when the schizophrenia hit back in grade 12, this never would have happened -- my brain would have been too broken.

But now I guess I've recovered enough that I was able to play the game at some level of skill.

Another factor may have been that my friend's mind is not fully operational (even though he's not schizophrenic) ---- in the past he told me he used to be pretty smart but he feels like he's just deteriorating over time.

So:::: either I've recovered pretty well, or I had an easier opponent or both.

Whatever it was, the game just seemed to work out.

Maybe it helped me that he went first --- I don't know (he took the first move).

Anyway ---- just interesting to note how my schizophrenic brain has recovered enough that I was actually able to effectively play and win a game of chess.

Good News!

So, for the past few months I've been having this issue with my brother:

to put it simply, he breathes loudly.

Yesterday I was a bit assertive in my demands that he try to control his breathing better. (to quiet down)

My Dad said I should wear earplugs. I eventually decided he may be right.

But my brother woke up a little while ago, and without me having to wear earplugs:

It appears HE IS ACTUALLY MAKING THE EFFORT to breathe quietly!!!

It's only been a few minutes so far, but the change is huge.

If this continues, I'll be so much happier. Maybe I should buy him a gift. Maybe I should mention that to him.

But anyway.

Yesterday we had a hubbub on the topic, today he's actually trying,

and I'm writing this on my blog because I don't want to send the hospital too much email.

At least it's good news:::: Big vast difference and improvement this morning!

I went to an epic party last night.

Last night was the first night in years that I actually stayed up all the way to midnight for New Year's.

The party was 6+ hours long. Of course, I needed help from a couple energy drinks to do it, but I did it.

When the new year struck, I was planning on playing Auld Lang Syne on my guitar at that moment ----- but my Blackstar Fly 3 (3 Watts) amplifier wasn't loud enough over the screams of "Happy New Year!" at that moment, so I had to wait a bit and started playing again.

It seems I need to be able to hear myself play or else I get confused about what comes next.

Really great party.

Most of my equipment is accounted for, but my brother-in-law thinks he has one of my things at his house, so we'll see.

By the end of the night, I could really feel the strain of my very heavy body on my legs. I don't usually experience that normally. My legs are usually strong enough to hold me.

So, there was pizza, and I brought drinks (the caffeinated kind). Yay.

That's all I'll say about that I guess.
